What is Dear.so for ERPNext?

It is an extension for the Dear.so desktop workspace. An AI assistant for your ERPNext site. Find open orders, review outstanding invoices, and work with business documents through a conversation in Dear.so.

Do I need the Dear.so desktop app?

Yes. The ERPNext extension runs inside Dear.so, rather than in this website. You need a Dear.so account and an active plan or trial that allows you to use the app. Have your ERPNext site address and an account with access to the documents you want to use.

How does automatic installation work?

Choose “Start 7-Day Trial” and register or sign in. We save your explicit ERPNext installation request to your account. Download the standard Dear.so app and sign in with the same account. Once your account is ready, Dear.so installs a trusted compatible release, or reuses one already installed. The extension is not bundled into a personalized installer.

Does installing ERPNext connect my account too?

No. Installation adds the extension to Dear.so. You then connect your ERPNext account through project setup, providing the required credentials or completing authorization. You can do that later.

What if the app does not open or the download fails?

Your browser may ask permission to open Dear.so. If nothing happens, download or update the app and sign in with the same account. Failed extension requests offer Retry in the app; queued or failed requests can be cancelled. You can continue onboarding while installation runs.

Will it install again every time I sign in?

No. A completed request is not repeated on later sign-ins. If you remove the extension, the old completed request will not reinstall it. You can explicitly request it again when you need it.

Does this replace ERPNext?

No. The extension helps you work with ERPNext from Dear.so. You still use your existing account or workspace, with its usual permissions and any required subscription.
